New Hire Resources

Getting Started

PEBP offers medical, dental, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance and a variety of voluntary products to eligible active employees. To get started as a new employee, you will want to review your plan options, learn how each medical plan works and determine whether purchasing a voluntary product is right for you. You can do all of those things by starting here.  Select any of the following links to learn about your options so you can make an informed decision. Congratulations on your new job and good luck in your career!

Important Tips:

  • You must make a plan election (select a medical plan or decline coverage).  Note: If you decline coverage, you are not eligible to purchase any of the voluntary products.

  • If you do not make a plan election, your coverage will be defaulted to the CD PPO HDHP with "Participant Only" coverage and a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA).

  • If you are adding dependents to your plan, you must provide documentation to support their eligibility for coverage as your dependent, e.g., copies of birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc.

  • Your plan election remains in force for the entire plan year (July 1 - June 30) unless you experience a qualifying event. Certain qualifying events allow you to add or remove dependents.  If you move outside of your plan's coverage area, you may be eligible to change your coverage.

  • For more information, read the Introduction to Employee Benefits Guide
